The Indicator Nymph is a special line for nymph fishing. Its super high-floating, 61-centimeter Chartreus-colored Dyna-Tip ™ tip provides excellent drift control and bite detection, eliminating the need for an additional bite indicator in most situations. However, if light or flow conditions or the weight of the nymph require an additional bite indicator, this will be handled by the Indicator Nymph as well.
The line profile of the CORTLAND Indicator Nymph is optimized with a short front taper and a powerful belly to carry a windy bite indicator, the leader and a weighted nymph or a multi-nymph rig with an anchor and several jumpers without power loss and stretched on Water lays. Regular WF lines are often overwhelmed without mercy, because their power transmission for the transport of bite alarms and flies is not sufficient and frustrate the fly fisherman with crashed presentations.
The total belly length of 17.35 meters makes this line suitable for all streams where you fish with larger string lengths. Not only the casting distance is meant, but especially the length of the drifts. For example, if you throw directly upstream and let the nymph approach, pass by, and then drift downstream, the Indicator Nymph allows for excellent string control and mendings over a total drift length of over 30 meters!
The Indicator Nymph in classes 7 and 8 are excellent lines for fly fishing on steelhead, silver and dog salmon with the deep fly under a large bite indicator.
