Most Intermediate lines on the market sink much faster than intended and are in fact Sink1 lines. With a specific gravity of 1.06, the CORTLAND 444 Classic Intermediate is only slightly heavier than water and therefore only sinks just below the surface film - a true intermediate line. Its slim profile and small diameter make it excellent for cutting through the wind. And it becomes clear what this line is made for: Fly fishing with dry flies and emerger nymphs on windy days, especially on slow-flowing waters and on still waters, and for sea trout fishing on the coast or on windless days in Tierra del Fuego. The line swims under the waves and therefore remains stretched. So every movement of your hand or tail tip is transferred to the fly, you feel every bite and can set the hook precisely.
The total of 9.88 meters short belly can be shot with minimal effort and only a few empty throws. Therefore, the 444 Classic Intermediate is well suited in line classes 7 and 8 for sea trout fishing on the coast. The line is equipped with a welded loop at the top for quick and easy connection to the leader.
